Directorate of Technical services (DTS) is mandated to oversee Management of all engineering activities within Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH). The main objectives are:

1. To provide support to Hospital activities through coordination of renovations, maintenance of infrastructures and buildings, Hospital equipment plant and machinery,
2. Monitoring the environment including general cleanliness, landscaping of Hospital compound and collection and disposal of clinical and non-clinical waste,
3. In addition, the Directorate is supporting Eastern Zone Hospitals equipment maintenance activities.

The Directorate is made up of two departments; Engineering and maintenance, and Environmental services. The directorate is staffed with 150 employees of which 3 are registered professional Engineers, 9 graduate Engineers, 9 Technicians and the rest are other cadre of different staff categories.
