i)EXEMPTED BY POLICY:
The patients get free treatment at MNH under Government Policy of exempted diseases as follows:
- LEPROSY
- CANCER
- TB
- DIABETIC
- SICKLE CELL
- HIV / AIDS
- PSYCHIATRIC
- UNDER 5 YEARS
- PRISONERS
- PREGNANT MOTHER
- SLEEPING SICKNESS
- EPILEPSY
These types of Exemptions by policy are AUTHORIZED by ONLY a Doctor.
Therefore, before registering a patient under this category, make sure the patient has shown you an Exemption Slip from Doctor specifying Exemption type, Doctor Name and signature.
NB: Collect the slips and submit to Accounts Department after your shift that day for reconciliations.
ii) EXEMPTED BY POLICY:
The second group of Exempted is POOR to pay. These Patients should have exemption slip STAMPED BY SOCIAL WORKER. Those patients who can not pay/don’t have money to pay particular services direct them to Social Worker Desk located at Causality.
These types of Exempted by policy are AUTHORIZED by SOCIAL WORKER ONLY with special Stamp.
Therefore, before registering a patient under this category, make sure a patient has shown you an Exemption Slip from Social Worker specifying Exemption Stamp.
NB: This is routine check up list, so make sure before recording/Saving first View patient category even if the patient is already having MNH file number
iii) PUBLIC:
Patients referred to MNH from different Hospital with referral letters. These patients are Cost sharing for consultations and admissions.
Therefore, before registering a patient under this category, make sure a patient has shown you a REFERRAL LETTER from Temeke, Mwananyamala, Tumbi, Bagamoyo, Amana, Ilala etc. only those with a mandate to refer patients. Note that it is not just any Hospital which can refer patients to MNH. Upcountry regional Hospitals and other consultant Hospitals are allowed to refer patients to MNH.
In case a patient is not having a referral letter register as IPPM or direct the patient to obtain referral letter, unless it is an Emergency in which case a Temporary exemption can apply.
NB: This is routine check up list, so make sure before recording/Saving, first check Patient category even if patient is already having MNH file numbers.
iv) IPPM – CREDIT:
Patients working in different Companies/Institutions/Organisations get fast track treatment services at MNH and their respective Companies/Institutions/Organisations pay the final bill.
Therefore, before you register a patient under this category, make sure the patient is showing Identity from any company that has a contract with MNH, Such as VODACOM, University of Dar es Salaam etc.. (Obtain List from Revenue Manager).
v)IPPM – PRIVATE :
Patients getting fast track treatment services and pay their services on cash. These are those who don’t have referral or any patient who want to see any specialist as private (IPPM).
vi) NHIF BROWN CARD :
Patients who are members of National Health Insurance Fund with Brown Treatment Card get treatment services at MNH and the National Health Insurance Fund pay the final bill. These patients are treated at Ocean RD or MNH Clinic. Therefore, before registering a patient under this category, make sure patient is showing BROWN CARD Identity. These patients are treated in normal clinics
vii) NHIF GREEN CARD:
Patients who are members of National Health Insurance Fund with Green Treatment Card get treatment services at MNH and the National Health Insurance Fund pay their final bill. These patients are treated at Ocean RD or MNH Clinic. Therefore, before registering a patient under this category, make sure patient is showing GREEN CARD Identity. These patients are treated in IPPM clinics and are entitled with IPPM services.
viii) NSSF:
Patients who are members of National Social Security Fund Health Insurance get treatment services at MNH and the National Social Security Fund pay their final bill. Therefore, before registering a patient under this category, make sure patient is showing NSSF Health Insurance Identity. These patients are treated in normal clinics and are entitled to NSSF covered services.
